Tour Plan

Discover fairytale landscapes and underground treasures of Eastern Serbia, a land where nature took magnificent forms. The forest itself will be plenty to look at, but the goal of our journey is to take you around the place the prehistoric people used to inhabit during the ice age. Resava cave – carved 80 million years ago will blow you away with the beauty of its many halls and galleries, but it is not the only jewel of nature we will be visiting on this journey. These woodlands, a birthplace of Vlach legends and magic, hide the picturesque Lisine waterfall and almost black spring of the Veliko Vrelo river. After experiencing all of the fascinating nature, you won’t be surprised why one of the most important rulers of medieval Serbia, Despot Stefan Lazarevic, decided to build a monastery right in this region. The monastery itself holds an unexpected breath of Renesaince, entirely atypical for the architecture of Balkan churches and monasteries of that period. With brilliant touches of both Western and Eastern cultures, the monastery is protected by strong walls and crowned with a breathtaking view. Here, in the fortress monastery with authentic frescoes, you will have a chance to meet an extraordinary king, a poetic soul, and a great warrior. Like the monastery itself, the patron was an unusual person as well. He ruled in unresting times, and the fortress-like shape is a vivid reminder of that era. The monastery become a sanctuary for many great scholars, poets, and fresco painters who laid the foundation for the future cultural expanse of Balkan.
